Using an ecologically-safe liquid, Tri Electronics’ two gold testers accurately test both yellow and white gold and give their results on an easy-to-read digital display. The GTP24 tests yellow gold from 6 karats up to 24 karats and white gold from 6 karats to 18 karats; the GTP18 tests both yellow and white gold from 6 to 18 karats. Both read “Not Gold” for anything below 6 karats. Both units operate on three supplied AAA batteries or with an optional AC/DC adapter. The GTP24 is covered by a two-year manufacturer’s warranty; the GTP18 by a one-year warranty.
